SANParks READY FOR ACTION SANParks rangers are watching the water levels closely subsequent to a flood alert from the Eden District Municipality. Parks Manager Jonathan Britton has checked the levels of the lagoon and reported the following: -Swartvlei 1.55m (breach at 2m) -Touw River 1.40m (breach at 2.1-2.4) The following precautionary measures are in place: -Machines are on standby at the Estuary mouths with driver operators accommodated in the Park to allow for a quick response! -Automated rainfall gauges are regularly monitored. -Water level plates are also monitored during the night with assistance from night duty fireman and rangers on standby. SANParks is also liaising with the Eden Disaster Management & the Knysna Municipality.
